Story angles that are actually true
- The anti-setup second brain. Most knowledge tools ask users to design and maintain a system. Mindly’s bet is that organization should be the software’s job: structure emerges from what you save, not from templates you configure.
- Local-first in the cloud era. The library is a folder on the user’s Mac. After a year of app shutdowns stranding user data, Mindly’s position is that a knowledge library should outlive any vendor, including Mindly itself.
- An independent team against category giants. A small independent product built, written, and shipped against Notion, Evernote, and Obsidian, with an honest-comparison content strategy that recommends competitors by name when they fit better.
- AI as librarian, not author. Mindly uses AI to organize what humans chose to keep, a deliberate counterpoint to AI tools that generate content. The distinction: whose intent the AI serves.
